Your working environment at an internship

Del artikel:

You are fully covered by the Danish Working Environment Act when you work under conditions similar to those of ordinary employment. That also means that during your internship, you aren't covered by the Danish Instructional Environment Act.

The Danish Working Environment Authority has some rules of thumb for what counts as "real" work. Ordinarily, the only requirement is that at least one of these points be met:

  • The intern performs work that is the same as, or very similar to, the work that other employees perform
  • There is a person who gives instructions and supervises the intern's work
  • There is an employer providing a space and materials
  • The intern is obligated to make their labour available

The Danish Working Environment Act ensures that you work under appropriate health and safety conditions during your internship. It is the employer's responsibility to ensure that the workplace meets the requirements of the Danish Working Environment Authority for a good working environment.

If you aren't certain whether you're covered by the Danish Working Environment Act, you're always welcome to contact DM (in Danish).
